Professional Handler Jackie Breazeale

Karousel Kennel

recommended professional handler

Dear Jackie Breazeale:

You are my handler for life. I appreciate your professional manor, your competitiveness and your accurate billing. I have always been aware of your extraordinary abilities.

You probably know that since I was young and for many years I was an owner handler. For years, I sat and watched and I listened. And, I learned. I don't think I could have sent my dogs out with anyone better able than you, Jackie.

Now that I hand my dogs over to you, I enjoy the sport much more. Of course it helps that you get my dogs some of the honor they deserve.  You have finished numerous dogs which I doubt I would have been able to manage on my own.

You can count on my patronage, support and loyalty for the fine work you do.

Sincerely,

Lee Miller

BACKGROUND

SHE IS THE ULTIMATE JUDGE (honest and with no entry fees) -- I have stood in line behind four ladies, all with puppies, to evaluate. Jackie Breazeale gave them the best going over I've ever seen. She quickly and without hesitation or placating the owners, outlines the good and bad features.  If you will pay attention when Jackie is holding court you will learn something. She loves helping people who want her opinion.

SHE IS HONEST -- Jackie Breazeale, is what we call in Texas a "straight shooter". She tells it like it is. I've seen her send back a dog to an owner with lots of cash. Many professional handlers would simply take the contract and shown a hopeless dog.  And, I've seen her encourage owner handlers, telling them they have a nice dog and not to give up. There is a certain integrity in what she told me once after one dog show, "You need to come get this bitch, she will never finish."

SHE LOVES YOUR DOG -- If you are looking for a handler, I don't think anyone comes close.  She cares about her toy dogs and holds them near her person waiting ringside. If it is cold, the dog is inside her jacket waiting for ring time.  I handed her a dog once and then walked to the other side of the arena.  It was an hour before she showed, and the dog was never more than a foot away from Jackie. She didn't throw it in a crate. She didn't hand the dog to an assistant.  She talked to it and you would have thought Jackie Breazeale was the breeder/owner.

SHE IS A CRAFTY LADY -- And I have to tell you this story... it never happens but it was cold, very cold, a rare weekend in Houston. The show was at a cover arena but there came a norther' and it must have been freezing or near that. I drove down to see Jackie work her magic.  I found her and my IG warm ring side, in a golf cart, there was a plastic wrap around the cart and they were sealed in there with a small space heater plugged in. All the IGs were shivering and miserable as well as their owners. My dog, Parker, was happy as a clam.  This is the quintessential Jackie Breazeale.

SHE IS ABOUT THE PURPOSE OF A DOG SHOW -- She is 99% concerned with picking the breeding stock for the next generation. For her I don't think it is about judges, owners or handlers.  I don't think she plays politics. It is so easy to get distracted by people, how they dress or what they say. She honestly thinks it is about the dogs. She never says, "well look who is handling" or "oh, they are the judge." When I hear her talk it is about the "top line" or the "feet", "tail" or "ears".  Maybe you are looking for someone to help you plot and gossip with?  You are looking at the wrong handler.  She is all business.

SHE IS A LIFE LONG COMPETITOR -- Finally, when you walk into her house, there is a framed newspaper clipping with a large photo of Jackie Breazeale, then a 9 year old girl, with a very large Saint Bernard dog as tall as she was. But she firmly has the lead and a big confident smile will tell you what Jackie is about and always has been about. I don't know of any professional handlers with her experience.

SHE IS SOMETIMES DEFAMED -- Unfortunately in sports, and it is in all sports; there are always sore losers. Always someone that just will not let the judge's opinion slide. They leave the show and want to crash their car into something they are so mad.  Why??? They didn't get their five cent ribbon and they blame Jackie Breazeale. They can't publicly defame or try to ruin the judges reputation and they can't very well run down the reputation of the other breeders, so  Jackie is the lightening rod.  "I should sue her.", "She is the Wicked Witch of the West.", "She was baiting her dog too close to mine.", "I would have won, but she got in front of me."  I'm convinced, given time, every lunatic at the dog shows joins a club to complain about Jackie. What do they say, "Misery loves company." People build web pages denouncing her; what a waste of time. Anyone who knows her, know she is loyal to her clients and a true lover of the sport.

And to those who are malicious enough to build an entire domain to run down Jackie, SO STOP YOUR CRYING and SHOW YOUR OWN LAME DOG...

It is a free market and sensible people are lined up waiting for Jackie Breazeale to handle their dogs.
